The aim of this study was evaluated the effect of red pepper and ginger addition to the diet on growth, feed, survival rate and body composition parameters of Astronotus ocellatus fish. In this research, 4 different treatments with 3 replication such as control treatment (commercial feed with no additional supplement), red pepper (55 mg/kg), ginger (1%) and mix of red pepper and ginger with same quantity were done. In this survey 132 fish with initial weight of 2.44±0.06 gr used. All of fishes were fed 3 times per day according to 5 % of fishes body weight for 8 weeks. Results showed that growth parameters such as FBW, SGR and %BWI had significant differences between different treatments (P<0.05), but separated red pepper and ginger treatments had a better performance than control treatment. Nutritional parameters showed that FI, FE and PER had significant differences between different treatments (P<0.05), but red pepper treatment had a better performance than other treatments. Also, ginger and mix of red pepper and ginger treatments had lower performance than control treatment. There was significant differences between body composition factors of different treatments (P<0.05), but red pepper treatment had a better performance than other treatments. There is highest and significant differences of survival rate belong to red pepper treatment (P<0.05). According to these results, red pepper treatment with best mention performance suggested as appropriate treatment for Oscar ornamental fish culture.
