The aim of this study was to description of trophic levels and diet of Macroinvertebrate fauna in Zaringol stream of Golestan province. For this purpose, 9 stations with 3 replications were sampled by Surber sampler, monthly. After fixing the specimens, macroinvertebrate groups, trophic and tolerance levels was determined using identification keys. The results showed that the highest frequency was related to the collector species that fed on fine particulate organic matter, which can be referred to the orders of Diptera and ephemeroptera that were observed in the stations around the fish ponds. In the upstream parts, due to the input entry of wood debries from the forests areas, the highest number of shreders groups was observed. Due to the type of northern rivers and flooding of these areas and the arrival of micro-nutrient particles from the marginal areas and the existence of fish farms in the study area, it can be expected that the collecting groups have the highest frequency.
