Abstract: (145 Views)
"Tata" is a type of common carp bred in Hungary, whose hatched eggs are introduced to Iran with aimed at solving the problem of warm water fish farmers due to lack of access to quality brood stocks and modified and fries with rapid growth rate. In the present study, in order to evaluate the advantages of Tata breed compared to the common Chinese breed, a comparison of the propagation indices and growth performance of their juvenile was made. the propagation of both breeds was done by injecting the ovulin hormone in one injection. The growth performance of fish after a 60-day rearing period with an average initial weight of 21 grams in two rearing treatments was done in fiberglass tanks. The results showed that the egg diameter and fertilization percentage of Tata breed were significantly higher with 1.53 ± 0.05 mm and 97.50 ± 0.76%, respectively (p<0.05). The average hatch percentage (98.00 ± 0.58%) was also 13% higher than the Chinese breed. The average weight of one-day-old larvae of Tata breed (2.54 ± 0.03 g) was significantly higher than the average weight of one-day-old larvae of Chinese breed (1.68 ± 0.04 g) (p<0.05). There was no significant difference in sperm motility and lifespan in the two breeds, and the spermatocrit of the Tata breed was significantly lower than the Chinese breed. In the comparison of the growth performance, it was found that in tank rearing under equal conditions, the average final weight and total length, the percentage of body weight increase, the percentage of body length increase, the specific growth factor, the average daily growth and the average feeding efficiency in Tata carp were significantly higher and in The food conversion factor was lower than the Chinese strain(p<0.05). The most important advantages of the Tata breed in the present study are more quality eggs, high percentage of embryo survival and hatching rate, and in terms of growth performance, having a higher growth rate than Chinese common carp. Tata can be a suitable strain for selection and breeding in future genetic improvement programs.
